Practical skill
Give AI the role, task, context, constraints, and output.
A useful prompt tells the tool what kind of help you need and what reality it should respect. The more concrete the work, the easier it is to check the answer.
Prompt shape
Role: what perspective should it use? Task: what should it do? Context: what facts matter? Constraints: what must it avoid? Output: what format do you need?
Example prompt
Try this today
Pick one task you already need to do. Write your prompt with the five-part shape. After you get the answer, ask: did I give enough context, and can I verify what the tool gave back?
Trust and safety note
A better prompt does not guarantee a correct answer. Use it to get a better draft or analysis, then verify facts, remove sensitive information, and make the final call yourself.
